How to Bypass Low Oil Sensor on Generator?

Apparent Low Pressure

If you use a diesel generator, you will get the real-time analysis via a pressure gauge. Thus, you will know how the generator is functioning. A lower number on the machine denotes that the lubricant can work better; however, it does not use the desired pressure. 

Using Low Amount of Oil

The oil does not flow directly into the engine. So, even if you add the required oil, the generator will not get enough oil to run efficiently. The reason could be leakage through oil plugs and seals or worn-out piston rings.

Steps to Bypass Low Oil Sensor on Generator

Locating the Yellow Wire

Every generator has a yellow wire. You can find it on a crankcase somewhere around the oil fill cap. Or, you can look under the panel. 

Disconnect the Wire

Once you locate the yellow wire, you can find a green wire connector. However, the connector color may be different for different brands. After that, you need to disconnect the yellow wire from the green wire connector.

Run the Generator 

After disconnecting the wire, let your generator run for about thirty minutes. This will allow the oil sensor to detach from the engine’s bottom. Further, you can connect the low oil sensor after you have completed the step.
